I wonder how many unsuspecting listeners tuned in after Larry's sign-off from the rock format, during the two hours interlude featuring ocean sounds and thought they were being treated to an extended version of The Doors "Riders On the Storm" ???

Gertrude was a covert narcissist and mentally in competition with younger and prettier Sylvia. The boys did what Gertrude said to keep her off their backs. It happens to some degree in every family where the mother is a covert narc, and having had one, I understood why my siblings went along with my mother’s ideas. You did not want her mad at you, and Gertrude was apparently capable of turning on any of them at any time. I just pray Sylvia is in Heaven, never to return to this hell of an earth ever again.

Wolfman didn’t need to be vulgar like pathetic Howard Stern. His audience was above the gross & filth known as Howard Stern.

There was only one Wolfman. The band The Guess Who paid him a tribute in a song called “clap for the wolfman”.

I saw them in Indianapolis in 1972 at the flaming hearth restaurant and lounge. Their light show that accompanied the song was awesome. They got a standing ovation.

I grew up in the south, so hockey was just something you saw on TV here and there. It was never watched at home lets say. But I was aware of Slap Shot back then because my Mom liked Paul Newman of course. Once I grew up, I dud indeed watch and fell in love with that film and watched, some years back, the Broad street bullies and it's one of my favorites! Then I went to RUclips looking for this song, and here we are. Except now it's 2024. Time flies.. re-recommend 😁

Man, I used to love listening to this station back in the day. I still remember that weather jingle by heart! I'd also like to remind everyone listening to this that the songs in this aircheck were, at the time, the same age as songs like "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Baby Got Back" are now. If you're a '90s kid, this is your reminder to go take your Geritol so you can be ready for arts and crafts time at the Shady Acres Rest Home. 😅

I remember singing this song on the school bus along with about 40 other kids. The bus driver was nice enough to crank it every time it came on.

Bad Weather & inexperienced pilot😟

When summer vacation was coming to a close.My uncle would sing this darn sing to me for teasing purposes. This caused whimpers and anger knowing I have to head back to school. The stores were long gone in the 70s, but Uncle P found the jingle very effective and useful. 😡😅

My grandpa used to drive around in his convertible with me, chomping on a cigar, playing this station. This is the sound of my childhood.
